Milestones

Today, I got two new additions to the flock, bringing me up to 60 total ducks and the first 25 contributors.  I want to do something special for those who have given to me things that I never asked for, but love anyway.  Hmmmm, what to do, what to do.

CTJ ASAP

In this contemplative time of Easter, I’ve come up with a new acronym that needs to be spraypainted onto a few t-shirts.  CTJ.  “CTJ” stands for “Come To Jesus”.  He came to die for every one of us.  If you come to Him, confess your sins, and ask for Him to come into your heart, He will.  And the comfort that comes to you will be indescribable.

Do it today. Do it now.  CTJ.
Amen

Getting Fast, Getting Dense

All of the sudden, I’m reading a bunch and working toward a more streamlined physique.  Crunches in the morning, running at night, reading Guerilla Marketing, Teach Yourself SQL in 24 hours, trying to pass on desserts.  I was also sick all weekend, so it’s been kinda kooky in regards to getting things done on the home front.  But God has His hand in all this, to be sure.

P.S. Saw a picture of Hugh Jackman on the beach this weekend looking all Wolverine-y.  That’s my goal!

Balloon Wi Fi Name

Balloon Wi-Fi + Google = Balloogle!  There, I said it.  Thanks to JaMoTo for the inspiration from episodes 665 and 666 from Buzz Out Loud.

Maybe this week

Maybe this week I’ll remember to post this on Thursday, instead of using the post on the next Monday.  Okay, for those of you playing at home:  new washer and dryer due to dryer fire? Check.  $650+ spent on repairing the Sentra-city? Check.  Still need work pants and jeans? Check.  Still working out step 1 of Dave Ramsey’s baby steps? Check.  Still looking to lose 15 pounds? Check.

Okay, fine, but the car drives like a dream now!  I guess when they were replacing the axle on the driver’s side that the assembly literally fell apart in their hands.  God was watching over us on this and the whole dryer debacle.  And I just recently joined a gospel quartet to our church!  It’s fun, and I’m madly memorizing songs.

And forgot to clean out the car over lunch? Chehhhhck.
:: hand to head ::

update: Nope, I didn’t and the car actually came out to $1,200.  My stomach’s looking a little better though.  Always a bright side!

The World We Lived In

I was reminded today how I am not of this world, but in it, for better or worse.  I went to an ATM outside of a Bank of the West today to withdraw money.  No problems there, save the three dollar transaction fee so Bank of the West can fleece you silly for not using their bank.  But then I take the CASH into the BANK to get CHANGE, and the teller states if I don’t have an account with the BANK, I can’t get CHANGE.  I was shocked.  It was CASH for the love of Pete.  So please, if someone cares for my opinion, and is an account holder, please reassess as to why one would allow this company to hold their loot here.

Rant off.

Spoke Too Soon

Just as I finished up my last post and thought I had gotten the better of the day, the day came back to bite my ankles.  It turns out that the trusty, 8 years old clothes dryer at home caught on fire, only causing enough damage to put the dryer out of commission.  Again, no one was hurt, and the clothes were rescued unharmed, but that’s money I’d rather put towards debt, or frivously on a new laptop.  One bright point is that we’ve been fairly good with money lately, so the whole affair was put to bed quickly so we could get on with our lives.  He takes a hit, but comes back for more, the crowd is going wild!  JA-SON! JA-SON!

heh.

A Great Start

I don’t know how many of you out there do the new years resolution thing, but I actually wrote a few things down this year and have at least established one so far (and it’s only February!).  I think the life coaching I am getting from Dave Ramsey, which occurs inside his money makeover books and radio show, remind me to put in the extra effort.  I guess the biggest reason as to “why Dave?”, is that I know that he’s been down and out and with guidance from the Lord, has put himself in the position to live like no one else.  That’s where I want to be.
