Just when you think you have nothing…

…God reminds you how much you do have!  Yesterday, 06.14, my car was unlocked from someone reaching through the window crack and a number of books religious in nature (including my Authorized Bible), a library book (Where’s My Jetpack as recommended by Merlin), and a bill with the check enclosed to be mailed were taken.  After overcoming the initial feeling of being violated, I realized a number of things including, but not limited to:

How glad I am they didn’t break the glass (as I wouldn’t be able to afford fixing it)

How I hope they actually read all those books and have a heart change

How I pray for their salvation

How easy it is to cancel a checking account despite the inconvenience

How thankful I am for the mercy of God and how I was once in darkness without Him  So all in all, I’m hopeful and in the market for a KJV bible. On other fronts, Safari for Windows!  What a good idea!  A subtle browser war inside the territory of PCs should happen, as it tends to just make products from the combatants better.  My computer pedigree goes like this: Apple IIc+, Commodore Amiga 500, PC Pentium 200 MMX, PC AMD 400, PC AMD Athlon XP (2Ghz).  I’m still waiting on stability before plunging into 64 bit technology.  I figure next year will be the time to buy as J Consumer takes advantage of the power over Christmas. So here’s Thursday+1.  Hope you all have a great Father’s Day.  Do your Father’s heart good, go visit Him on Sunday and tell Him how much you love Him.

The goals of rubberduckmuseum.com

It seems that I should put out some sort of concrete measurement of what I want to achieve with this site (I think Merlin would approve).  So I’m going to throw some out there and see how the next year shapes up.

1) Have a site with values firmly ensconced with the values of Christ.

2) Have an income producing site to the point that it’s self maintaining.

3) Have a site that’s as amusing to me as it is to everybody else.

Now, as long as I continue to ask myself “am I meeting these goals?”, from time to time, we’ll be just fine.  I did for a moment consider changing this to a tumblog (a la Leo Laporte), but it seems a bit too drive by for what I want to accomplish.

I do want to give a big thanks to Brian over at Randomthink.  Brian’s put up with me for quite a few years and most recently helped me set up the whole database side of Wordpress.  I didn’t even know what I was getting into, but I gave him a call and he came to the rescue.  Please go see what he and his wife Lisa are up to.

And here’s duck number 2.  I will be working on thumbnails and size over the next week.  Should be fun!
