iPhone footage for Leo

I’m going to do some crazy stuff regarding this year’s release of the iphone in conjunction with Leo and twitlive.tv. I figure if I run over to the local apple store and take some video with my phone I can go back home and upload it to Leo while he does his 24 hour marathon of coverage.  I’ll copy what I can here so you, my loyal patrons, can see how it goes.

Annnnd so I tried and did not get any play from Leo, so here are the videos I took from the Albuquerque Apple Store and the Westside Albuquerque AT&T store.

Albuquerque Apple Store iPhone line @ 5pm 7/10/08

Westside Albuquerque AT&T store iPhone line @ 9:30pm, 7/10/08

Now Leo or Dane can come get em!

Update: Brian told me the video won’t play and it looks like the format my phone takes is different than what it says.  Here are ones you can really watch

iPhone line - Albuquerque Apple Store - 5pm -7/10/08

note in this first one I keep calling it the new iPod at first…I was so nervous (sad little man)

iPhone line - Albuquerque Westside AT&T store - 9:30pm - 7/10/08

try those on for size. :)

Laying up Treasures in Heaven

I was just re-listening to Net(a)Nite 36, and recalling the world of stock options and when workplaces would issue them out like candy on a Halloween night.  I worked for an online provider (where I met Brian, actually) that had a stock option vesting thing that just had the bottom drop out of it.  Leo and Amber bring up the point of how this isn’t the smartest idea as people sit around work all day calculating their net worth.  I did that, and consequently took the loss on it when I sold out.  But I remember that the price of the stock would literally set the tone for morale in the workplace.  Most damaging in this regard.

But wait, there’s hope!  Jesus says in Matthew Chapter 6:19-34 that the wealth of this world is just that, of this world.  So it’s better to take up the cross and follow Him.  Don’t just listen to me say it, dust off that old bible and gain a whole new outlook on life.  In it is a peace that passes all understanding.

Coin-pal

I’d like to propose the possibility/feasibility of allowing the coins deposited in Coinstar machines to be directly deposited into a Paypal account. I’ve got all sorts of change that I would like to move into Paypal for the continuation of this site, and I could see larger organizations getting into buying adspace asking for donations from the change endowed. I’ve even got a name for the conglomeration: Coinpal (a domain name that’s supposedly for sale for 4000 eurobucks - sigh)!!!!! Brilliant, if you ask me…except…well…nobody asked.

In other news, I’ve added DLTV to my netcast listening repetoire, Wednesday. Incredible tech show as well and really turned on to me by Dvorak’s mention of them on Cranky Geeks. Cammy Blackstone now has a ‘cast on about junk food with Leo entitled Munchcast. Show #1 was pretty funny, and I like Cammy’s on-air personality.

And in Christian news, I’m now in the habit of reading Morning By Morning by Charles Spurgeon and My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers. Solid devotionals from solid spiritual leaders. I’m also trying to read at least a chapter out of the ol’ King James everyday as well. If I’m a “Person of the Book” as Christians are sometimes called, I want to know what the Book says. Check it out! :^D

Ain’t Talking ‘Bout Phones

Yes, I’m not even going to mention the name of the phone that was released on Friday. I used to have a cell, but I got out of the contract when I realized I just didn’t need one. What I wish for is something that would be a dumb terminal to the web with some favorable throughput. I have a laptop, but it just doesn’t get over the fence at the library where the wifi is free. And on that the security is nonexistent, so I don’t dare email or anything.

Although Leo had reviewed the unsaid phone on three shows so far and I think he’s happy with the core functions. Intriguing.

And I made a favorite icon this weekend (aka the favicon). And now I just need to figure out where to put it in the code. I’ve been thinking of the duck on a pillar concept for some time now, and will try to expand it to the theme in the header bar. Again, I have no coding skills, so this is really a stretch for me. But the duck on a pillar is my official trademark.
