Corolla goes away (along with it’s car payment)

Talk about simplifying your life. We’ve inherited a ‘01 Nissan Pathfinder and sold our ‘04 Toyota Corolla at Carmax on Saturday. Surprisingly, it went rather well and we made 1000 dollars over what we owed and now have no car payments whatsoever! God is good, all the time!

I’m afraid I will just have to post a static image of the flashing duck in Flickr, and will be posting the animated gif of the duck here on the page. I’ll get that up on Thursday at the latest, as I want to be loyal to you; ye followers of the fowl floatable!

June Of Discouragement

Wow, what a month. First, came the break-in to my car and having to change accounts and all, due to losing a check. And then, the water heater at the house broke. On the upside, I never really noticed how ‘hot’ hot water can be! And then I think of life around the world where hot, running, water is a luxury. Thank you, Lord, for all Your blessings, and please bless and comfort those who need You most!!! I want to give a long overdue plug to People’s Plumbing of Albuquerque, NM. They were able to come out the next day and gave us an incredible price. If you are in the area, please bless Rudy with some business. He’s a square deal guy.

And I wanted to throw this photo up on Flickr, but I didn’t want it to mix in with the ducks. So here’s a cool tractor that I saw at the 4th of July parade we went to (previously mentioned in Monday’s post). It was loud and cool! A Tractor Named Desire And if you can see it, check out the new favicon on top of a duck on a pedestal! I finally figured out how to code it in.

4th and Long

Wednesday was the 4th, and I had a good time at the parade in the small town next door.  And the rest of the weekend slowly slid by with me washing the cars and oiling an armoire.  Other than that, the big new would have been that I got DSL, but that didn’t happen as I looked at the finances and found them unable to support higher bandwidth over food and gasoline.  I’m thinking about checking into Facebook, but I have yet to see a real need in acquiring another site other than to mirror this one.  Annnd, another week, another duck to Flickr!  Thanks for your continued support.

Huckabee vs. Brownback websites

Brownback wins. Hands down. Just in the way the world of Web 2.0 is included (especially his blog). I totally intend to acquire how Brownback’s blog has all the icons so that you can digg it, technorati it, etc. etc. I was blown away by that. (Here’s Huckabee’s in case you are wondering)

Maybe I should compare all the sites. I think I saw in PC Mag that they had compared the top tier candidates for both parties, but that was around January. Nope, I think my eyes would explode. Yeah, it’s a scattered post today. I’m over halfway through on my current pictures for ducks. I like how flickr has been running so far, but I really need to take some more photos before I run out. Hopefully, within the next two weeks I’ll be able to snap some with the Kodak. My kingdom for a new digital camera!

You take Sixteen Ounces and what do you get?

Dr. Pepper now comes in 16oz. cans with labels saying “made with cane sugar”.  It is a fabulous time to be alive.  I hope the title brought visions of Tennessee Ernie Ford into crystal clarity.  Gaither Gospel Series has a great 40 song compilation of gospel songs that I just love; especially “I Can Tell You the Time”. And duck #45 came in on 05.18; my biggest patron crashed her motorcycle and found it in the hospital gift shop.  She’s recuperating very well, and I’ve sped her healing by sharing banana oatmeal muffins made by my beautiful wife.

And I’ve been linked by my friend Carol at yankeeaholic.com!  She’s ummm, well, a Yankee fan, and another patron to the poultry preserve (nos. 38 and 44 respectively, to show up in Jan/Feb of 2008 if kept on schedule).  Give her a visit and see what she’s up to.

This one is a post on Saturday rather than Monday as I once again have the day off!  Ducks have now been moved to the sidebar with a flickr badge for ease of viewing.

GLU!

Low-Tech Wakoopa

Due to my current inability to posess a computer that I can truly call my own, I won’t be able to use wakoopa to feed into the museum.  I don’t know how exciting it would be in the first place, as I don’t use a whole lot.  I’ll give you a most likely list though.

·                     IE7 (to get here)

·                     MS Paint (to alter the duck photos)

·                     WordPad (to type this out)

·                     Sid Meier’s Pirates!

·                     Hoyle Card Games 2005 (I think)

·                     MS Office 2003 (for work)

And that’s all the soft there is to talk about for me.  I didn’t include online apps like HighRise or Google’s Analytics as I expect wakoopa wouldn’t either.  On a completely separate note, I also intend to feed from flickr so the ducks will appear in the sidebar.  I also have some design ideas I want to load in.  Change is constant in this world, but God’s love never changes!  Pull out your old King James and read John 3:16 to see just how much He loves all of us.
