State of the Museum

My fellow patrons, my apologies for the recent lack pertaining to posting and floating fowl encouragement.  The anniversary came and went, and I somehow made posting into a job, which I had no intention of doing, but I hear many in the republic of Blogostan run into.  Maybe it was burn-out, but I suspect it really was external forces that needed the attention of this administration that lowered the priority of my communications to the droppers by of the ‘net.

I think it best to start with old news and the goal achievement.  Yes, back in post number two I had set up goals and so far, 67% of those goals were achieved this year.  I think we continue to talk about God’s love for all and His committment to us through His Son, Jesus.  Folks, He sent Jesus down for us in an ultimate sacrifice, and I cannot stand in the way of that message.  I will continue with bringing the light of the world to the ‘net.  Second, I think the site has been amusing and has brought forth things like lijit (which didn’t work out here) and animoto (which is super fun).  I again, want to continue with bringing interesting and amusing content.

The only goal currently not being met is the self funding of the site.  Attempts have been made with Google adsense, but the fact is that after starting sometime in September, the site has garnered $1.14.  I want to start a new avenue of revenue, but it hasn’t really happened.  This is the weakest effort in goal, but I did not set out for the museum to be a bankroll, but a megaphone with some pictures of the generosity of people around me.  Who would have guessed it would have come to this?

In closing, once again I thank you patrons, I thank Brian, and I am thankful for the freedom available to me to do what I do when I do it.  It has been a great year, and I look forward to what the museum holds for the future.

Thank you, God Bless the Museum, and God Bless the ‘net!

Happy Anniversary!

Wow, I somehow made it through a year on the site!  Let’s see, I’ll be sure to get a birdseed cake.  Hee hee hee.

But really, none of this is possible without God, duck donors, Brian, and those of you who drop by to see what I have to say and sometimes click through the ads.  And speaking of ads, I’m thinking about replacing them with something more financially, and consequently spiritually, rewarding.  More on that later.

How did I get ahead of myself?

I’m not exactly sure how, but the duck for this week is the 52nd duck.  Which seems strange due to the fact I haven’t made the year mark (coming mid May).  So, I think I will open a poll to the end of the month asking what people think of the site.  I also will hold off posting the next 11 ducks until May 12th as it only seems fair to keep on the 1 duck per week track.  I humbly thank you for dropping by and thanks to all who have donated to the museum either by duck or by Paypal. It’s you who keep me calm on the surface and paddling like crazy under the water.

God Bless youznyourz!

Milestones

Today, I got two new additions to the flock, bringing me up to 60 total ducks and the first 25 contributors.  I want to do something special for those who have given to me things that I never asked for, but love anyway.  Hmmmm, what to do, what to do.

Two New Things

Wow! It’s been quite a time since I’ve had a chance to talk to you all. But two exciting new things! First, the museum is now ready to be view upon your iphone! I’d love to hear about how it looks, so if you know someone who has the means, please ask them to show you rubberduckmuseum.com on the phone and drop a comment. Second, Brian has finished animation of the flasher duck and posted it on YouTube. I’ve embedded it here below.

I guess he set it to music as well, so I’m gonna have to sneak a peak. God bless your day!

Suddenly Overworked

Many apologies for not getting a duck up on Monday and that I’m just posting today.  Work is a mess and I will be flying to Pennsylvania this weekend.  So I’m putting two ducks up for this week and next.

God Loves You!  Just ask Him.

Corolla goes away (along with it’s car payment)

Talk about simplifying your life. We’ve inherited a ‘01 Nissan Pathfinder and sold our ‘04 Toyota Corolla at Carmax on Saturday. Surprisingly, it went rather well and we made 1000 dollars over what we owed and now have no car payments whatsoever! God is good, all the time!

I’m afraid I will just have to post a static image of the flashing duck in Flickr, and will be posting the animated gif of the duck here on the page. I’ll get that up on Thursday at the latest, as I want to be loyal to you; ye followers of the fowl floatable!

Almost Forgot!

Oof, here it is the end of the workday and I almost forgot to post duck! Yes, another devil duck this week, which reminds me how Jesus spent more time talking about Hell in the the new testament than Heaven. The warnings are there written out, it might be time to take a look at them. The best part, though, is that it’s true that all a sinner like me has to do is to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, ask for His forgiveness, and to come into my heart like I did on October 11, 2001. That’s it!! How amazing! Let Him in. He’s been waiting.
