Look to the Skies!

It’s possible that I’m jumping the gun, as I am likely to do, but I’m going to start a podcast on space news.  While I’m sure there are a few podcasts out there regarding this topic, I just want to promote space exploration and colonization and keep it in the public eye.  Brian’s going to produce, and I’ll post the location when the first show goes up.

Jesus said to keep looking up and wait for His return.  This conversation happened AFTER his death!  Grab a Bible and check out Acts, if you don’t believe me. :^)

Update: recorded the first show on Saturday, ill prepared and full of “um’s”.  Brian and I will try again on Thursday with better circumstances.  And hopefully we’ll have it up by Saturday the 26th.  I’ll reveal the website on that day so ye loyal readers and happenstance passersby can take a listen.

(note: this was supposed to be posted Thursday.  Sorry for the wait.)

Fading Star

Sometimes you just don’t catch something soon enough and it’s already gone.  I’ve been considering getting into Eve Online, and so I’ve been digging around in the ‘casts relating to the game.  I found Podded, which I caught at episode 4 (on the eve online website) and then did some more searching and found the final episode (11) which went up in April of 2007.  Michael did a good job of talking about development and in-game action.  Thanks for the show Michael, perhaps things will change where you get to cast again in the future.  I did also listen to another ‘cast on MMORPGs but I won’t mention the name as I found it sorely lacking versus any other ‘cast I’ve ever listened to.

Update: And now I am checking out Warp Drive Active (takes you to show #25), which seems to be a solid two-player ‘cast.  The in-game news tends toward battles and kills and it sounds like some equal time should be given to the exploration/corporate contracts side of the game, but real world news tends to run along the same lines doesn’t it?

Gettin’ ‘Casted

You know you’ve reached a whole ‘nother level when you are connected online with the laptop in the dining room while your beloved works online in the bedroom (where the desktop lives).  I’ve even downloaded ‘casts to my ol’ nano this weekend (a first for me).  I know, ‘welcome to the world’ and all, but it is exciting.

Thanks, God.  How awesome of You to put the ability to make this all possible into people You created.  Not only am I excited for what You have in store for this world in the future, but also for the world to come.

P.S.  I did try to upgrade my new router using the tips at Lifehacker (my new favorite website), but it wouldn’t take.  I think my version number (6.0) is too high.  *shrugs*

Pockets of Ducks?

One of my coworkers was up in an office in Loveland, CO and let me know that someone was just like me in that they had a plethora of rubber ducks decorating their cubicle.  It’s an epidemic!  Who knows how many ducks are out there!  I also had this occur to me yesterday (5/10/2007):

This is in my trusty steed, the 1994 Nissan Sentra, known affectionately as “the black car”.  I looked down coming back from lunch and figured one doesn’t see that very often.  I pray for something a little more up to date, but you can’t beat the close to 40 M.P.G. I have a real heart for “back then”.  So, I commute the car until it can commute no more.

Which has lead me to a podcast idea that I ran by Brian, and he thought it would be fun.  I don’t want to reveal anything just yet, but I think getting out on the web at least audio wise will be a trip.  We shall see, we shall see.
