I know, I know. But I couldn’t help myself. With the Labor Day weekend approaching, I was certain that I would not be near a computer to post the 19th duck so far, so here it is. I do want to say that I’m going to put some serious site time in from the 14th and 15th as the rest of the family will be in Pennsylvania. Break out the caffeine!

Today, I want to give a big shout out to Alvin and his site, makeabearabqnm.com. Alvin and his family are trying to get a side business going with the Noah’s Ark people that’s a Build-A-Bear workshop on wheels for parties and occasions. A noble idea with a God centered company…I hope they go far with this.
Meanwhile, it looks like my family and I have found a new church. I want to wait a bit to ask to be members, but they seem to have great fellowship. I hope it will be a place to rest and heal for me and my family. I also hope that anyone who reads this is also in a place of refuge, and if not, then I pray God’s hands provide a shelter and the guidance needed.

This weekend I got to tag all the Flickr photos, so that should drive some traffic to the blog. I also got to fix a leaky faucet in the back yard and make an impulse buy of an old nintendo 64 with Mario. The family and I have been playing ever since.
Also checked out from the library Dave Ramsey’s More Than Enough about getting financially well. It’s a fast read and I have a hard time putting it down. Brian also loaned out his Nintendo Gamecube to me so let the games begin!

I haven’t missed two deadlines in a row, I just timeshifted the week! LOL. Sorry, things have been going crazy at home as we try to get financially healthy and find a place where the Word of God is taught. In a great Buzz Out Loud, however, they mentioned a great website on broadband pricing! Now maybe I can find a way to get DSL!

My apologies for missing my own self-imposed deadline yesterday. I have an excuse, but it involves me being so tired that I actually had to leave work early. I’m less tired today, and was able to Flickr the wild duckie (look over yonder —>). I got a new PC Magazine over the weekend that had some good articles in it, and looked at laptops at Office Depot over lunch today. Other than that, I’ll make sure I’m fresher for a real topical post come Thursday. God bless you and keep you!

Can someone please tell me what is going on with this country? Albuquerque (the city I work in, but don’t live in) has decided to hamstring the police department by not allowing them to ask the immigration status of criminals, thereby allowing criminals, who also happen to be illegal aliens, to bail out rather than be handed over to the feds for prosecution and/or deportation. How does this make any sense? Perhaps we can just invite every criminal on the lam from their home country here for a burrito and a “stab” at our own populace who’s just waiting to be victimized.
I’m in a position where I get to work with people from all walks of life, including people who have gone through the legalization process. But that’s the thing; this country has a process, and broken or not, it is currently the only one available to people interested in working and residing here. I’m absolutely furious that political leaders throw up their arms and say there’s over 10 million here already, so what do we do? If asked, I would say, ‘well, how do you eat an elephant?’. The answer is, one bite at a time. And while I completely understand that the vast majority of illegal aliens are hard working people trying to take care of their loved ones, as honest as they all are, they are still breaking the laws set up in this country and need to play by the rules.
Rant’s over. Deep breath.
God has called my family to a different church. This is always a tough time as the people we leave behind are people we love. But rather than looking at the breakup as the end, I think it’s better to look at how God used Paul and Barnabas to evangelize to even more people (check out Acts 15:36-41). I give it to God for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and I am His to use at His will. Have you condsidered what God can do for you? Please take a moment and ask Him to take the shoulder the burden and enter the peace that passes even my lowly understanding.

A pirate duck for me! It’s nice to see criminals in vogue again. Current culture romanticizes the once feared and well hunted highwaymen of the sea, and I’m swept up in it as well. It’s okay, from Peter Pan to Adam Ant to Johnny Depp, it’s in its own form of syndication. It’s interesting to note that no one is really pure in the Pirate’s of the Caribbean trilogy, as even the governor is willing to bend rules for his own daughter. Do you see what I’m saying?
I apologize for things not going according to plan here on the website. I know I promised last week to post an animated gif of the flash duck, and due to my own inexperience, he’s been delayed. I also promised some updates to the duck donation page and the ducks over time page, as they also are overdue. I’ll get cracking.
Some quick freeware shoutouts to CPU-Z and Autoruns. CPU-Z is a great diagnostic tool that was just recently updated and Autoruns (as I heard on DL.TV)is an intense way to see what is started when you boot up your Windows machine. Worth the downloads even over dialup!
And one last note: I got some great feedback on my site from a passerby last week. I truly believe God uses me to encourage anyone I can reach out here in the wasteland that is the internet. There are not many wells on the path of life, and I offer the living water that God gave me through His Son, Jesus Christ. Please ask God for forgiveness and for Him to come and change your life. It really is that easy. Don’t keep Him waiting.

It’s too bad really how I didn’t think to just get up and start writing about a topic I discussed with my wife last night. It was hilarious. What was it?????
The city water department has been my nemesis for some time now. It turns out that due to our post office (yet another nemesis) is so slow on the uptake that the check from our bank got to the water department too slow. So I get a seven dollar late fee. Sigh.
In the music department, I’ve considered harmonicas yesterday whilst driving around town. I have an idea for a couple of gospel hymm albums that I would like to do (just harmonica and guitar and maybe sing a few) and put 90% of the profits towards church related missions. It’s the servant’s heart in me. And if you have some spare time, check out No Greater Joy. I think the Pearls really have a solid bead on what God wants for His people.
I’ve also after a lonnng hiatus have gotten back into getting into shape. I’ve been biking for about 30-45 minutes in the morning, covering about 12-15 miles. It feels good to get out again.
Man, I need to start getting my info into pageflakes and facebook. The hype for these areas is building and it would be nice to see a few more hits. I do want to say that there are a few loyal readers out there that I thank from the bottom of my heart.
